1 Introduction
Excel2Word by Wrepit is an add-in for Microsoft Word. It is built using Microsoft’s official Javascript addin API, and runs in a browser – either in Word for Web or internally in the desktop application.
The addin requires access to your Sharepoint data, via the Microsoft Graph API, and as such will request read-only access to the end-user’s Microsoft Sharepoint resources. Since the end-user and their company’s data is accessible through Sharepoint, we have created this documentation to describe how and why we are accessing your data.
In general:
- The addin requests access through the “least privilege” principle – not requesting any access which isn’t necessary to perform the job.
- The addin signs you in with your Microsoft user using the Microsoft Authentication Library (MSAL).
- The addin never sends any of your data to ANY backend – everything is processed and performed in the browser on the end-user’s computer.
