3 Technical questions
3.1 What kind of addin is this?
It is a web based application, written in NextJS/ReactJS, running from a Wrepit controlled domain (https://inexcel.addin.wrepit.net). It runs in an internal browser within your Microsoft Word application. It can run both in Word for Web and Word on desktop (both Mac and Windows).
The application only runs in the browser. It will only function in certain browsers.
3.2 Where is my information stored?
After giving Excel2Word by Wrepit consent to get data from MS Graph, the following information is processed by the addin:
- Your login data: Name, email.
- Excel file data that you submit to the addin:
- Sharepoint “Share links” to Excel files.
- The contents of your linked Excel files.
- The contents of your current Word document.
None of this data is submitted to Wrepit or any other 3rd party in any way. Everything is handled directly in the browser client and stored within the MS Word document:
- You login data is visible in the browser for you alone.
- Your share links and necessary Excel data is:
- Processed in memory in your Word browser.
- Stored within the Word document you are working on.
3.3 Can Wrepit collect data from my Sharepoint?
Theoretically, yes. In practive, never. We do not, and will never, collect any of your data. (See 3.2 Where is my information stored?) We only require access to your files to help you with connecting your Excel sheets with your Word document.
